I don't believe in a one style fits all approach. I spend my time in getting to know you and adapting therapy to what fits your personality the most. I feel that building a strong bond of trust within the therapist-client relationship is essential to your emotional growth and healing. I have been told that I am good at using humor in therapy and in using the strengths you already have to help you heal. I can give you a list of fancy therapy models I know how to use, but I like to modify each modify to fit you. Not make you fit the model.
My passion is helping the helpers. I spent my formative therapy years working in hospital settings, working for non-profits providing in-home therapy to at-risk populations, specializing in LGBTQ+ population. My passion in understanding burnout for the helpers motivated me to establish a systemic theory to burnout in the helping professions.
My goal in supervision is helping you "find your version of effective therapy" while balancing the systemic and individual barriers to a healthy work/life balance. I hope to provide kind guidance with honest feedback; in order to help you develop into professionals that are competent and caring in such a chaotic world.
